Contact Lens Use & Care Instructions

Fall In Love Eyes - Cosmetic Coloured Contact Lens Care For Him & Her

We want you to get the best out of your stunning coloured contact lenses. So, we have created a 7 Step Care Guide to help you to keep those beautiful contact lenses healthy and sparking.

We know you are excited to wear them and these steps will help you get the best wear out of them. So a little patience in the beginning will pay off in the long run.

Don't have time to read our Care Guide?

No problem! We have borrowed a YouTube video to help you. Just scroll down to the bottom of this page, click and watch. However, if you can - please read our 7 Step Guide as it contains information not on the video.

Okay so let's get started. This is the exciting part!

Step 1.

  • Your johnnyD Fall-In-Love-Eyes Coloured Contact Lenses will arrive in a small box.
  • Open the box and take out the 2 blister packs containing the contact lenses and the bonus contact lens case we have included for you.

Step 2.

  • Thoroughly clean hands are a MUST. This prevents bacteria being transmitted into you eyes so, make sure there is no dirt or lint on your hands, fingers or under your finger nails. Ideally wash your hands and scrub under nails with an anti-bacterial soap and then dry thoroughly.
  • Get into the habit of working with one contact lens at at time. This will help to make sure you don't get them mixed up. The lens you use for your Right Eye is always in the Right Eye and  the lens you use for your Left Eye always in the Left Eye.

Step 3. contact-lens-case-image.jpg

  • Remove lids of contact lens case.
  • You will note that 1 lid has an "L" on it. This is for your Left Eye and the other Lid has an "R" on it. This is for your Right Eye.
  • Fill both side of the lens case with multipurpose soft contact lens solution. Put enough so that the contact lens can "float" in the multipurpose soft contact lens cleaning solution.
  • IMPORTANT: When you have chosen which contact lens to place in which side of the lens case, you must stick to this once you have used the contact lenses and make sure you place them back into the correct Left or Right Eye side. This is to help keep the contact lens sterile.

Step 4.

  • Gently remove lens from the blister pack with either contact lens tweezers or you can use a cotton bud dipped into fresh multipurpose soft contact lens solution.
  • Remove contact lens and place gently into contact lens case with multipurpose soft contact lens solution. If possible have the inside of the contact lens facing up (should look like a half ball shape).
  • You can tell if the contact lens has been turned inside out by looking at the edges of the contact lens. As the shape of the contact lens looks like a rimmed soup bowl than a half ball shape, if the edges are "flarred out" creating a lip effect, then the contact lens is inside out. Gently, without using your nails (as this will damage the soft structure of the contact lens) turn the contact lens so that it resembles a half ball shape again. Remembering that clean hands and fingers are a MUST.
  • You can choose either side of the contact lens case to place the contact lens in because at this point, the contact lens has not been placed into your eye.
  • IMPORTANT: Allow contact lenses to rest and soak in the lens case with the fresh contact lens solution, for at least 2 hours but ideally 6 hours before you use them.

Step 5.

  •  IMPORTANT: Handle contact lens with finger tips only as nails can damage the contact lens - they are extremely delicate.
  • Using 1 hand, gently lift your upper eye lid.
  • With your other hand gently pull down your lower eye lid with your middle finger while using your index finger to insert the lens
  • One way to know if your contact lens is inside out is by the feeling you will have when you have inserted the lens in your eye - if it feels scratchy, then remove gently (see removal instructions below) turn right side upso that is looks like a 1/2 ball shape again and repeat above Inserting Colour Contact Lenses instructions..
  • Release your fingers and blink 2-4 times to allow contact lens to slide into place.
  • Repeat these steps for other eye.
  • Only wear contact lenses for a maximum of 8 hours and NEVER sleep with them in.

Removing Colour Contact Lenses:

Step 6.

  • Gently pull down your lower lid.
  • Look to the left and using your middle finger, slide the lens down to the white of your eyes.
  • Then gently pinch the lens between your middle finger and you index finger, sliding them towards each other.
  • Once removed place gently into correct side of contact lens case (Lens for Right Eye in "R" marked side and Lens for Left Eye in "L" marked side of lens case).

Step 6.

  • Caring For Your Contact Lenses: It is best practice to clean your contact lenses after you have removed them, especially if you are wearing them very regularly.
  • Anytime you are handling your contact lenses make sure your hands, fingers and nails are always scrubbed clean with antibacterial soap and dried with a lint free towel.
  • Take 1 contact lens out at a time, place in the palm of your hand. Then carefully place on the tip of your index finger with half ball shape facing upward.
  • Add 3-5 drops of multipurpose soft contact lens solutution and very gently rub entire inside of lens with index finger of your other hand for approximately 10 seconds, making sure your nails do not contact the surface of the lens. This process will clean protein build up that is created from your eyes while wearing the contact lenses.
  • Turn contact lens over and repeat on other side.
  • Using clean multipurpose soft contact lens solution, rinse gently making sure lens is clean of all residue.
  • Place back into contact lens case with fresh mulipurpose soft contact lens solution and screw lid until air tight.
  • Repeat this proccess for other contact lens
